IFEANYI “IFY” IMACHUKWU: UNDER PASSION ARREST

Ifeanyi “Ify” Imachukwu is not just an entrepreneur on the precipice of global innovation; he is a master marketer who is designing the future of meaningful community connection.

In a world optimized for speed, where proximity to others is instantaneous due to technological advancements, Ify is developing the solution to the conundrum of emotional disconnection that so many of us face in a society where primary communication occurs through handheld devices.

As the Founder and Creative Lead of the app SeenU, a proximity-based app helping people connect #IRL through radar-style discovery, Ify is committed to solving a problem that many social platforms overlook by bridging emotional gaps.  SeenU’s goal allows humans to show up as they are to connect with other like-minded individuals in real time, enabling users to meet from across the globe or while sitting just a table away at a local coffee shop.

From the moment I explored the app, I felt the power of human connection. Meeting Ify only reinforced my impression as I found him to be relatable and genuine to the core.   Ify believes that SeenU’s unique value in the tech space is in the app's ability to “allow users to be cohesive with anyone around the world.” He says, “There hasn't been an app where you can choose to connect with someone that you identify with thousands of miles away or cross paths with someone in very niche and specific areas before even approaching.”

To understand Ify as a game-changing innovator is to see that his entrepreneurial path was set early. As a fellow entrepreneur, I recognized his deep and instinctive drive to use technology to improve lives, a pull shaped by his upbringing. After his parents immigrated from Nigeria to the United States in 1999 and settled in Atlanta, he was raised with a strong foundation in discipline, accountability, and social justice, instilling a belief that success is earned and purpose matters.

“I learned early what it took to see hard work come to fruition,” Ify says. “Opportunity doesn’t wait; you have to seize it.”

Long before SeenU became a product, it was a feeling.  As a rising influencer in the social media space, Ify knew that the key to building an impactful digital product was rooted in building trust. He began creating content on Instagram, eventually shifting to TikTok as the platform evolved. He discovered that what resonated wasn’t polished content, but rather his honest storytelling presented in candid conversations about bullying, identity, and belonging.

“I wasn’t trying to go viral,” he explains. “I was just telling my truth.”

As his audience grew, Ify saw the opportunity to pivot into tech, where he began to lead teams and learned how digital spaces could influence human behavior and bring people together. He realized that the intersection of people, psychology, belonging, and product would become foundational to SeenU.

As Ify started to leverage the human interaction that resulted from his creative social media content, the lightbulb of invention sparked a simple yet powerful question… What if there was a way for strangers to cross paths based on specific, intentional, real-world commonalities and human preferences?

“I wanted to remove the mask,” Ify says. “People walk past each other every day with so much in common and never know it.”

SeenU allows users to connect with people they’ve crossed paths with #IRL within specific, contextual environments before ever approaching them. It’s not about swiping endlessly. It’s about creating a social space rooted in empathy and understanding.

Introverts, extroverts, students, professionals, people across the street, or across borders can utilize SeenU to meet others in a low-pressure way, offering an entry point into conversation that feels natural and emotionally aligned.

A pivotal, unexpected turning point came from a simple follow.  Ify followed Chris DeWolfe, former CEO and co-founder of MySpace, not expecting anything beyond inspiration from Chris’s page. However, DeWolfe engaged with what Ify was building, offering him a hint of validation that what he was building was resonating at the highest level in the tech community.

“That moment validated the grassroots approach,” Ify says. “Chris understands building community from the ground up.”

The relationship reinforced Ify’s commitment to learning constantly, especially from pioneers like DeWolfe. “I never want to be the smartest person in the room,” he says. “The world is a university. I wake up each day ready to learn.”

Ify’s skill set extends far beyond tech. With a background in finance and public speaking, and a degree in organizational development and communication from the University of North Georgia, he understands what many founders overlook: story is strategy. He approaches growth through narrative as much as numbers.

“Steve Jobs said it best, sell emotion before product,” Ify says. “People invest in vision. That message stayed with me.”

While investors have shown interest in SeenU, Ify remains selective, prioritizing alignment over capital. A strong grasp of equity, investor psychology, and brand fit has shaped his approach. “I’m focused on partners who believe in the long-term vision and want to grow with it.”

SeenU is powered by a small team of three core members, supported by interns and student ambassadors.  College campuses have emerged as a key channel where connection is natural and scalable, helping the platform gain 9,000 users in six weeks with Ify serving as the brand's face, leveraging growth through social media.

The journey has not been without challenge. “Alignment is the hardest part,” Ify reflects. “Helping others see the vision as clearly as you do.” He has learned that discernment is essential. For Ify, influence without integrity is meaningless.

Grounded in faith and discipline, Ify believes success comes from consistent effort. He jokes that he is on “passion arrest,” dedicating nearly every waking hour to building SeenU.

SeenU isn’t just about technology. It’s purpose-driven. In a crowded digital landscape, Ifeanyi “Ify” Imachukwu has created something quieter yet powerful, with authenticity at the core of its infrastructure.  Clearly, he has just scratched the surface of what’s to come.
